  • Given that the coefficient of static friction is 0.20 and the coefficient of kinetic friction is
0.17, The forces are applied with the block which are initially at rest.
    a) Draw the free body diagram of the structures.
Also, determine the magnitude and direction of the friction force acting on the 100kg block
    shown below if:
    b) P = 500 N and
    c) P = 100 N
  • The uniform 7 m steel shaft has a mass of 200kg and it is supported by a ball-and-joint at A
in the horizontal floor. The ball end B rests against the smooth vertical walls as shown
    below.
    a) Draw the free body diagram of the structures.
    b) Compute the forces exerted by the wall.
    c) Compute the forces exerted by the floor on the ends of the shaft.
  • Construct the circuit shown, using the software LTSpice.
  • Compare the simulated results with theoretical values. Are they close? If not, find the
    reason for the discrepancy
  • You would like organise a small charity event to give back to the society during this
pandemic. In order to organise this event, you are required to prepare a poster to promote
this event to your colleagues. Include the purpose of the event, the recipients of the event,
how they can participate or contribute and the importance of giving back to the society.
Use suitable graphics to encourage your readers to join.
  • You have noticed that a lot of first-time pet owners do not know what to expect or what to
do before owning a pet. Prepare a poster to guide them in making decisions and preparing
themselves. Include relevant information to guide them to make good choices in the types
of pets or what they should do before owning a pet. Include relevant graphics and
    guidelines to help them.
  • What resources do you use to keep up with the newest engineering developments and technology?
